Petworth has undergone a renaissance since 2010 with lots of investment into the neighborhood.  Yes! Organic Grocery opened along Georgia Avenue followed by many other great businesses including Chez Bill French Restaurant and some of the more recent additions on Upshur Street including Petworth Citizen and Dove & Crane.  The neighborhood features the Georgia Ave/Petoworth Metrorail Station which is on the Green/Yellow line and leads straight to Columbia Heights, U Street, Convention Center/Mt Vernon, China Town, the SW Waterfront, Navy Yard (Nat’s Stadium), National Airport, Pentagon City, and Old Town Alexandria!  Also, Safeway built a new store with garage parking on their old site located at the corner of Randolph & Georgia Avenue.  The DC Government has invested a great deal in the neighborhood as well improving streets, store fronts, the Library, and parks.  The neighborhood mostly comprises rowhomes but there is also a mix of new condos popping up as well as a handful of single family homes.  Don’t miss out on this neighborhood’s weekly Farmer’s market.
